Fuel Pete's Fight: Support for Transplant Recovery
Donation protected
Hello all, some know some don’t that Pete was born with a rare liver disease he never really used to talk about it but four years ago after having very little problems with it, he became sick and was put on the transplant list. When we moved to South Carolina. He was taken off because his numbers were improving. Over the last year he has been worse, and has gotten quite a bit sicker.
He was placed on the transplant list again and shortly after was a back up to a transplant, but did not get it. He was then the recipient but the liver not healthy enough so again he did not get it.
We got the call May 3rd and the liver was healthy and transplant completed on May 4th. Since then, Pete has had an infection and a leaking bile duct. He has been in and out of ICU. The 2 weeks in hospital recovery is getting longer and he will be transferred to a rehab facility after.
I continue to juggle work and driving to Charlotte 2-3 times a week to be there for Pete. Any help for gas money at this time would be appreciated.
