Fuel MOVE Dance Collective's Journey to Seattle

Hello all, my name is Jameel Malik Hendricks and I am a professional choreographer, dancer, and the artistic director/founding member of Philadelphia-based MOVE Dance Collective (other credits, Philadanco, Eleone Dance Theater, Waheed Works, Bobby Shmurda, Cardi B., Meg the Stallion, Xscape) . MOVE Dance Collective, is a project-based dance company that primarily focuses on showcasing the diverse talent in the Philadelphia dance community locally, and nationally. In October of 2023, MOVE Dance Collective made its debut performance at the “Men In Dance” festival (Seattle Washington) premiering a new work “A DAMN GOOD KID” (choreographed by Jameel Hendricks). The company’s performance received stellar reviews by audience members as well as notable figures in Seattle’s dance community such as Noel Price-Bacey, Victoria Watts, and the incomparable Donald Byrd. MOVE Dance Collective has been invited to once again perform for the 2024 Men In Dance Festival taking place on October 4th & 5th. The intention behind starting this GoFundMe is to raise enough funds (deadline September 20th 2024) that would cover the following expenses for the festival: • Compensation for performing artists • Travel Expenses • Food • Costuming • Stage Crew fees I speak on behalf of the entire cast when I say that we'd be more than grateful for all of your help in reaching our goal of $2,500!
