Fuel Marty's Dream to Grow His Woodwork Business

Hi, I'm Martin (Marty) and woodworking is my passion. Over the past few years, I've been creating unique and functional pieces like floating bottle holders, coasters, and wall-mounted bottle openers for friends and family. I just started my LLC and currently working on building a catalog and realized the one thing I want to make I don't have the proper equipment to do so.

Now, I'm ready to take my new woodworking business to the next level by expanding my product range to include beautiful cutting boards and charcuterie boards. However, to achieve this, I need a thickness planer and a few additional items.

With these tools I can start producing a wider range of products and begin selling them at local and online markets.

This will not only help my business grow and one day get me into a shop of my own, but also allow me to share my handcrafted items with a broader audience.

How You Can Help:

Your contribution will directly support the purchase of the following items:

• Thickness Planer: $600

This tool will allow me to purchase more cost effective wood and will help ensure that the wood is all the same level. It would be used to help me create patterned boards similar to the one pictured below (this not mine), but I have more ideas.

• Heat Shrink Kit: $325

This will help me keep the boards fresh. I oil every piece before I ship it and it will keep it looking like the pictures I take (I want customers to experience "what you see is what you get" and it actually be true.

• Bigger & Better Clamps: $75

You can never have enough clamps and for this project I need bigger clamps.

• Miter Saw $250

This tool will help speed up production time and help me make more accurate angled cuts. My table saw does an okay job, but it's a lot of work to set it up to make it 100% accurate.

The purchase of these items will also help me build trade-line credit for the business, which one day will allow me to move my setup out of my friends garage into a shop of my own.
