Hi family, friends, and loving and supportive followers of L.A. Gee. Due to his hard work and dedication to his craft, L.A.’s hopes and dreams have finally come to flourish. He has completed his first year at The Juilliard School of Dance and will begin his sophomore this Fall 2025. Although Juilliard has offered him a nice financial package (including the little from FAFSA), covering his tuition, we are still left with a need to cover his room and board, books, and other expenses. We have tried private loans but have been met with denials after denials. Including the parent plus loan.
Dance is a way of life for L.A. It is not a hobby, but a passion and he has made this his chosen profession. Choosing a career that makes you happy, and that inspires and touches all one way or another is a blessing.
L.A. has been dancing with scoliosis and it leaves him in constant pain, that no medicine can relieve, but he has not let that stop him. Scoliosis is a disease that causes the spine to curve. Through all of his pain, he worked hard and earned a GPA of 3.60. His choreography was performed on Juilliard’s big stage (a great accomplishment for a freshman), and he auditioned and earned the opportunity to train this summer at Orsalina28 in Italy. An opportunity he may not have been able to have had he not been a student at Juilliard.
We now are asking for your assistance to help fuel his passion for dance at Juilliard. Your contributions would be most appreciated. Please donate and share this with all lovers of the performing arts and even those who just want to see a Detroit boy succeed.
We thank you all in advance.
