Fuel Korey Whitfield's BBQ Passion

Hi, my name is Korey Whitfield and I was born and raised in Brookline Massachusetts. I am currently a teacher at Burlington High School in Burlington Vermont and have been teaching for almost thirty years. Since moving to Vermont, and even before that, I have had a dream to start a small business serving BBQ. In the past, I have catered numerous events informally at home and for friends. The idea of hosting gatherings, sharing meals, and creating memories around my food fills me with immense joy and satisfaction.

So far, I have established an LLC (Speakeasy) and developed a menu that draws from everything from family recipes to my love of food from around the world. I have designed a logo, initiated an online presence, and purchased some equipment. I have also reached out to the City of Winooski for a permit to be able to serve food across from the community swimming pool and at their Farmer’s Market. As summer approaches, I find myself filled with excitement for the warm days ahead, filled with laughter, gatherings, and the aroma of deliciousness wafting through the air. It's in this spirit of celebration, collaboration, and community that I'm reaching out to you for support to get this business off the ground. I will use this funding to buy the necessary equipment as well as secure the permits, promotional materials, and insurance necessary to be successful in this venture.
