(The Main Video is Me Singing in Ride The Cyclone, Check it out!)
Hello there! My name is Kimmel, I'm 18, and I'm currently in my second year at Howard County Community College where I'm creating my own musical theatre major!

I have always dreamed of being in the performing arts, whether that's in Hollywood or making it on Broadway. I have always loved singing and acting, participating in choirs and school plays since I was 5years old! My mother has always been my main support for dreams! She raised me on her own my entire life but she has never let any difficulties get in the way of encouraging my dreams.

My opportunities to perform in middle and high school were unfortunately cut short due to COVID-19 and I decided to stay in online schooling until my senior year of high school due to my mother being immunocompromised.
However, I didn't allowed that to stop me from performing in my online schools creative outlets.

I got an opportunity to perform in their online production of Phantom of the Opera which also happened to be in French!

During COVID, My mother and I also became homeless due to circumstances out of our control.

It was a very hard time on both of us and we are still dealing with the aftermath. However, Music and Film saved my life during my challenging times and that time made me realize that the arts are truly my passion.

After living in hotels for over a year and then losing her government job, my mother worked very hard to settle us in a place where I could take the next step to achieve my dream. I enrolled in HCC and have had amazing opportunities to showcase and hone my talent. So far, I have appeared in their productions of "Ride The Cyclone", "Brother Bear" and "The Importance of Being Earnest." Being able to experience and learn from a quality musical drama education has opened my creative avenues.

From this, I also had the amazing opportunity to perform on "Showtime at The Apollo!"
One important step that I want to take to help further my understanding of my craft is participate in The American Musical and Dramatic Academy's (AMDA) Summer Gap Program. AMDA is one of the top schools in the country for Performing Arts and it's gap program features essential core classes dedicated to the development of fundamental performing arts techniques. The program will also give me an opportunity to audition for their 4 year BFA program.

I am very excited to participate in this and I hope that this jump starts my future in the performing arts!
Thank you so much for your support!
