Fuel Juliana's Goal to Become a Pilot
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Juliana. I’m 19 years old, and I’m pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming an airline pilot. After taking 6 months off from flying to work and save, I’ve returned to the skies and made huge progress toward my Private Pilot Certificate.
In just the past few months, I have completed:
- First Solo in the Traffic Pattern (KOMN) N536HF – 05.07.2025
- Second Solo to a Practice Area (KDAB → South Practice Area) N536HF – 06.02.2025
- Private Pilot Written Exam – 80% Pass Rate – 07.22.2025
- Third Solo to a Towered Airport (KDAB → KOMN) N733KC – 07.28.2025
- First Solo Long Cross Country (KDAB → KMLB → KEVB → KDAB) N733KC – 07.30.2025
- Second Solo Short Cross Country (KDAB → KVQQ → KDAB) N733KC – 07.31.2025
- Night Flight Requirement – 10 landings (KDAB → X59) N536HF – 08.12.2025
I now have around 45 flight hours and am closing in on the final requirements for my checkride.
As you can imagine, flight training is expensive and not covered by federal aid. One lesson can cost between $500–$1,000, and the journey from zero hours to a Commercial Pilot’s License can total over $100,000. As a young student in a single-parent household, I’ve been doing everything possible—working, saving, applying for scholarships, and budgeting carefully. I have been blessed to win three scholarships totaling $16,000 and have invested $10,000 from my own savings into my training.
Flying has been my dream since I was 7 years old, and my ultimate goal is to fly for the airlines and use my career to serve others through organizations like Samaritan’s Purse, Compassion International, Pilots to the Rescue, Props 4 Paws, and Mission Aviation Fellowship.
Whether you donate $1 or $500, you’re helping me take my dream to the skies, and I’ll gladly share my journey with you every step of the way.
