Help Fuel Hope: Donate for Reliable Car and Insurance Costs. I'm reaching out to you because I need your help. This is my story.

I depend on my car, a nearly 23 yr old Toyota Matrix, to travel to and from work. It's been my lifeline, allowing me to earn a living to pay a monthly mortgage, gas and food. A car payment has not been part of my tight budget with an old car. Much has changed. The car has become a constant and persistent financial drain and safety concern. Despite numerous costly repairs, it continues to need more. The Check Engine light previously would switch off in a few days, but now has been on since July 2025. Meaning it will not pass a smog check. The struts need replacing, it leaks oil and 3 of the 4 car handles have broken off. I'm constantly worried about it breaking down. Sleep is anything but easy. Every morning as I turn the ignition key, I hold my breath, praying it will start and last another day. I've determined that purchasing a safe, preowned, certified car is the most sustainable and sensible solution. This will mean financing, a monthly car payment and yes, an increase in monthly insurance premiums. But it will be safe, reliable transportation.
