You have probably heard on the news
about the current fuel crisis, if not please Google “Malawi fuel shortage” and you will see how big the problem is here… it’s very sad because it is ruining people’s livelihoods as local businesses and community infrastructure cannot function.
At YANA we rely on fuel to power our cars and get our children to and from school, those who become sick to hospital and medical appointments and those who have disabilities rely on our transportation for their mobility needs.
Not every child who attends Yana School lives at a YANA Village. Some still live with their parents and simply cannot attend school without us assisting with transport. Also, some of our children go to schools which are some distance away because that particular school caters for their personal circumstances, for example, our children who are blind.
Of course, we also need transport to get food basics and necessities that we need for our children to thrive and for any medical emergencies that crop up, like a child who becomes sick and urgently needs to be taken to the hospital, or those children who are living with illnesses and must attend appointments regularly to support their care plan. Tusa also needs to visit any new children that might be beginning the transition to YANA.
You see, there are so many reasons that we need to rely on our cars and transportation, and this becomes impossible if we do not have the fuel needed to run the vehicles! If you are able to help please kindly donate, every dollar, euro or pound helps. We appreciate that many of you have donated before and want to thank you for your kindness and generosity, we never take any of this for granted.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
