Backstory:
My name is Claudio Hernandez, I am 17 years old. Soon to be 18 in December. I was born and raised in Austin, TX. Born to my father(46) and mother(41) who were both born and grew up in Mexico and came to the United States in search of a better future. I am 1 of 4 kids of theirs, I am the only boy.
Story:
I am about to turn 18 in December. Growing up as a kid I went through many phases every year, a new passion, a new hobby, a new something to do. I can't lie I went through that phase heavily. I remember wanting to be an office worker, a firefighter, a police officer, a detective, a SWAT officer, or a doctor but something I never doubted was ever becoming a Futbol/ Soccer player. My passion for this sport has no limitations. I will go as far as to leave my family and travel alone across the country to pursue this dream. BUT that's not where this story starts. My true passion and intent to begin this journey was when I was first starting high school, my freshman year. I was always into futbol, of course, but I was never really put into a competitive scenario to truly feel a great passion for it to make it my dream fully. I got this feeling all from a soccer class during the school day. I feel like all I needed to pursue a career in this beautiful sport was just a push, a feeling of competitiveness. This class got me fired up, I was super competitive, and I began to get way better. Before the high season started I was ready to play and show out and be someone on the team who can make a change. That soccer season went just like that I became a vital part of the team, being called the team's engine by our coach sliding into tackles and running back to steal and stop an attack. I ended that season with 3+ assists and 2 goals. Later on during the post-season, I decided to keep on pushing and working hard for the next year. I did just that during the pre-season I had already secured my spot on the team. Once again I was a vital part of the team that season being named one of two captains. Ending the season with 3+ assists and 0 goals. That year I decided to venture out and get into a club to play out of school. I joined CapCity SC North. I got put into a team a year older than me. I trained with them 3 times a week and played games all around Texas, from Houston to Dallas. Later that year I heard of a great opportunity to play overseas but only a few players get scouted from across the United States. I went to this tryout and everyone there was great and all had their game face on. Ultimately I didn't get that specific opportunity to play in Germany. Not to worry tho. I was given a better opportunity I was given the possibility to play overseas in Cadiz CF on the South coast of Spain. Under an International Academy full of only US-born players, playing friendly every week and training 6 times a week. I took up the offer but not without having to pay a hefty sum and making monthly payments. I stayed there and played under the Cadiz badge for 4 months. Growing and improving my technique and gameplay. I not only improved physically and mentally from the professional standards we were given but also morally because they taught me it is possible and I can do it I just need another big chance. Photos and Video of my experience on my sports account
I am being given this big chance which is why I came to create a GoFundMe because I need support to be able to pay for my journey and hopefully future career. I have been given a chance to play in Granada under a real academy team and live once again to the standards of a true professional.
I am asking for your help please donate so I can once again head out into Spain and play to make it pro one day.
