Hello, everyone!

My name is Cindy Koira, and I am a varsity golfer and physics student at the University of Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

I am honoured to share that I have been selected to represent Team Canada at the 2026 FISU World University Golf Championship. This international competition brings together some of the top university student-athletes from around the world. Representing Canada on the international stage is an incredible opportunity, and I am grateful for the chance to compete alongside the best athletes from across the globe.

During the 2025–26 season, I was proud to lead the Vikes women’s golf team while delivering a strong and consistent performance throughout the year.

My 2025–26 Highlights

2026 Continental Athletic Conference Champion: I successfully defended my individual conference title at Rockwind Community Links Golf Course in Hobbs, NM earning an eight-stroke victory.

2026 TMU Spring Invitational Champion: I captured individual medalist honours at La Purisima Golf Course in Santa Barbara, CA securing first place after recording the best final round of the tournament.

2026 NAIA National Championship: I led the Vikes at the 2026 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Michigan, finishing tied for 9th individually and earned First Team All American honours.

2026 Canadian University Championship: I concluded my 2026 collegiate season with a seventh-place individual finish at the National University Championship highlighted by my bogey free 68 in the second round, helping the Vikes team to fourth place overall.

2025 Canada West Championship: I led the Vikes women’s golf team to a bronze medal finish, and I was named Canada West All-Star.

Following my performance at the Canadian University Championship, I was selected to represent Team Canada at the 2026 FISU World University Golf Championship in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 11–14, 2026.

Athletes are required to self-fund the cost of participating in this event, and my estimated expenses will be approximately $8,500. To help account for travel and other related costs, I have set a fundraising goal of $9,000.

Throughout the season, I worked hard both on and off the golf course to earn the opportunity to represent Team Canada. Now that I have been selected, my focus is on preparing well, competing to the best of my ability, and representing my university and country with pride.

Attending this championship is an exciting opportunity to compete at an international level and gain valuable experience as a student-athlete.
