I, Connie Bates, along with Benez Woodard's parents, Rickey and Rosetta Woodard, are very proud of Benez's achievements as a scholar and basketball player. He began playing sports at an early age. His love for sports and being a natural athlete allowed him to play both basketball and football. He was able to compete with those older than him with ease. A native of Virginia, Benez continued his dream of playing basketball after high school and played basketball at the University of Fort Lauderdale (UFTL).
During his time there, Benez received 2nd Team All-South Region during 2023-2024 and was 1st Team All-South Region in 2024-2025. He is the only player at the University of Fort Lauderdale to score over 1,000 points in his career. He was named player of the week by NCCAA this season when he scored 22 points, had 10 rebounds, and 10 assists vs. Clinton College on February 8th, 2025.
Benez averaged 16 points, 4 rebounds, and nearly 2 steals per game, and he currently has the greatest basketball career in UFTL history. As the season ended and his career at UFTL, the love of basketball did not end. Benez has opportunities to play basketball and needs financial support to attend some basketball camps in Mexico and Las Vegas in June 2025. We need additional financial support to help continue his basketball journey to attend these camps and others. We are trying to raise $10,000 and we desperately need your support. Please make your donations by June 5th, 2025.
Thanks,
Connie Bates
