Fuel Another Year of Rescue for Helpless Animals

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I would sell the shirt off my back in order to feed a homeless animal. I sacrifice my time, my sleep, my budget, my sanity and my tears...all in the name of rescue. With that said, its time once again for my annual Birthday fundraiser. I host ONE fundraiser a year to support the hundreds of helpless animals who have in the past, and will continue to find sanctuary under my roof. This level of commitment comes with a hefty price tag. 2025 will be especially challenging, as I am juggling all of this responsibility as a newly single mother of 3 young children. Never one to back down from a challenge, I will carry on with more grit & determination than ever.

2024 was a record breaking year. My greatest goal, assisting with the rescue of dogs saved from the Chinese dog-meat trade , became a reality. Watching these soon to be butchered dogs, acclimate to life in a loving home has been nothing short of amazing. I have also taken in multiple splay leg, senior, and special needs fosters- I never go for the easy ones! A total of 7 dogs , 2 ferrets, 8 guinea pigs, 6 hamsters, 28 rabbits (foster and sanctuary) , domestic and wildlife rehab birds, hedgehogs, chinchillas and even a tarantula have found refuge here. The majority have been placed in amazing adoptive homes. A few stragglers remain here, due to medical and/or behavioral concerns. Once a space opens up , it is filled by a new foster usually within 24 hours. No time to waste with shelters euthanizing so many animals daily.

With all of this said, I would be delighted if I could meet my fundraising goal of $2,191 . Why this number? This is how many weeks I have been alive as of 4/21/2025. Go ahead and grab your calculators...
