Fuel Albert's Battle Against Cancer

Hello to all reading,

I am Amanda, Albert Willen's niece, and I have decided to start a GoFundMe for my Uncle.

As some of you may know, back in December, Albert began experiencing a bad sore throat. His Primary provided 4 different rounds of antibiotics because he tested positive for strep but nothing worked. He was then referred to an ENT Doctor. And after several tests and visits with an Oncologists, he was given the diagnosis of Stage 4 #Laryngeal Cancer.

It has been a challenging journey just to get to this point of diagnosis but the real roller coaster will begin when his treatments start. They will be going at this full speed and as aggressive as possible, starting with a feeding tube.

He lives in Belle, Missouri. The treatments he will undergo are in Washington, Mo at Mercy Cancer Center. It's a 2 hour drive for him one way. He will be making this 126 mile round trip 5 days a week for a minimum 7 weeks. That's about 35 trips for the treatment alone and does not include the several appointments before and after.

So this GoFundMe is to help relieve him of the burdens during these trips back and forth such as gas money and hotel expenses in case the trips back home are too difficult during treatments. Our goal has been set to $5,000 but rest assured, anything not used for gas or hotel stays will go toward medical expenses.

We are asking for everyone to keep Albert in your thoughts and prayers during this unforeseen time and to help him in this time of need. Every penny counts!
