Operation Kick Cancer's Ass
Donation protected
Hello lovely people!
I appreciate you taking the time to read and support this GoFundMe. This was a difficult thing to share as it still feels so unreal. For those that don't know me, I'm Bekah. My dad, Steven, was recently diagnosed with rectal cancer. He's only 68 and has always lived a very active and healthy lifestyle. Receiving this diagnosis was beyond shocking.
For anyone who is familiar with cancer, the symptoms as well as side effects of treatment can be debilitating (nausea, weakness, mouth sores, GI problems are the worst, no??) not to mention the risk it puts him at for having a compromised immune system. My dream would be to gift my father the time he needs to let his body heal. NOT mustering up the strength to go to work.
My dad has always been my biggest support system, as well as a father figure for my two children. It is now my turn to provide the support back to him, but I recognize I can't do it alone.
These type of things require the power of community to overcome. I've seen it first hand working bedside in the ICU/ER, that patients that have holistic support have far better outcomes than those who endure it alone.
If you have extra you can donate monetarily, please consider this a worthy cause. 100% of proceeds go directly to my dad to support alternative therapies insurance doesn't cover, nutrition, chemo costs and lost wages.
If you are unable to donate monetarily:
- Do you have a network connection that may be able to?
- Know of an alternative resource you can share?
- Perhaps have a therapeutic service to offer?
- Or simply can put him your prayers.
Know that anything you offer is greatly appreciated and has a ripple effect greater than you may know.
We don't often come by big opportunities in life to make a significant impact on the life of another. To make an unfortunate situation turn into a success story... but this can be one of them.
