Fuego; A Chicano Poets Voice

My Passion for Poetry
Poetry has always been more than just words on paper to me—it's been my lifeline, my voice when I felt silenced, my heart's beat and soul’s flame. Influenced profoundly by gritty poets like Miguel Piñero, Jimmy Santiago Baca, and Pablo Neruda, my poetry seeks to ignite fires, spark conversations, and illuminate the raw, beautiful truths of life.
As I've written before:
"I choose fire—it dances on my tongue,
flickers at my fingertips,
burns through my veins,
setting words ablaze
in revolutionary flames."
My poems explore identity, resilience, love, loss, and the revolutionary spirit—all infused with the raw authenticity of my Chicano roots.
Why I'm Raising Funds
Publishing independently means taking charge of my narrative without compromise. Your support will help cover editing, design, printing, and distribution costs, allowing my words to reach and resonate with more hearts. Reaching this goal would help produce my first batch of chapbooks (with more copies being able to be printed as needed) and allow me to move forward in my work to produce a full book in the near future.
