Un appel à l'aide pour Empire 47

VOTRE CENTRE DE VÉLO DE MONTAGNE ET DE FATBIKE EMPIRE 47 EST EN PÉRIL ET A BESOIN DE VOTRE APPUI POUR ASSUMER LES FRAIS JURIDIQUES OCCASIONNÉS PAR LA POURSUITE EN JUSTICE ENGAGÉE PAR LA VILLE DE LAC-DELAGE.

Ce qui se passe

La ville de Lac-Delage a entrepris en 2023 une poursuite en justice contre Empire 47 pour forcer le centre à démolir ses bâtiments, conteneurs et installations. Selon la Ville, nos activités seraient « à fort impact » alors que les règlements de zonage ne permettraient que des « activités à faible impact ». Ces bâtiments servent à la billetterie, à la patrouille, à l’atelier de location, aux camps de jour pour les enfants, à la Halte des Fins Renards et aux usagers désireux de prendre une pause au chaud.

La Ville demande aussi à Empire 47 de cesser d’utiliser le stationnement « P1 » situé à l’accueil qui est offert en priorité aux familles et aux clients de la location.

Sans ces installations et la possibilité d’utiliser le stationnement, Empire 47 ne serait plus en mesure d’opérer de façon sécuritaire et rentable. Cela aurait pour conséquence la fermeture du centre et la vente des terrains.

Pourquoi votre aide est cruciale

À ce jour, Empire 47 a déjà déboursé plus de 50 000 $ pour assumer sa défense, ce qui crée un déficit dans un budget déjà serré. Si les procédures judiciaires se poursuivent jusqu'à leur terme, les dépenses que nous aurons à assumer pour notre défense sont estimées à 150 000$. L’OBNL est toutefois déterminé à se défendre jusqu’au bout et a besoin de votre soutien, moral et financier, pour survivre.

Votre contribution fait une différence

Toute somme donnée fait une différence. Tous les fonds recueillis serviront à couvrir les frais juridiques d’Empire 47. S’il advenait que la somme totale recueillie excède les coûts juridiques engagés, l'excédent serait utilisé pour financer un projet pour la jeunesse ou serait redonné à la communauté.

YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE AND FATBIKE CENTER EMPIRE 47 IS IN DANGER AND NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT TO COVER THE LEGAL COSTS INCURRED BY THE LAWSUIT FILED BY THE CITY OF LAC-DELAGE.

What's happening

In 2023, the city of Lac-Delage filed a lawsuit against Empire 47 to force the center to demolish its buildings, containers, and facilities. According to the city, our activities are “high impact,” while zoning regulations only allow “low impact” activities. These buildings are used for ticket sales, patrols, the rental shop, day camps for children, the Little Foxes shelter, and users who want to take a break in the warmth.

The City is also asking Empire 47 to stop using the “P1” parking lot located at the reception area, which is reserved primarily for families and rental customers.

Without these facilities and the ability to use the parking lot, Empire 47 would no longer be able to operate safely and profitably. This would result in the closure of the center and the sale of the land.

Why your help is crucial

To date, Empire 47 has already spent more than $50,000 on its defense, creating a deficit in an already tight budget. If the legal proceedings continue to their conclusion, the expenses we will have to cover for our defense are estimated at $150,000. However, the non-profit organization is determined to defend itself to the end and needs your moral and financial support to survive.

Your contribution makes a difference

Every donation makes a difference. All funds raised will be used to cover Empire 47's legal fees. If the total amount raised exceeds the legal costs incurred, the surplus will be used to fund a youth project or will be donated back to the community.
