Hi all,
My name is Yaser Abushabaan, I live currently in Belgium, while my entire family resides in Gaza, enduring harrowing conditions. The situation is extremely devastating, with people being killed and infrastructure destroyed, rendering Gaza almost uninhabitable.
Due to the ongoing conflict on the ground, my brother's family (Mohammad) was forced to be displaced to the south of the Gaza Strip. During their displacement his wife was pregnant, and she was forced to walk more than seven kilos. She didn't manage to get a proper check-up or treatment when she arrived in the south of Gaza. They have been hosted in a local gym in Rafah four months ago. Her husband was able to get her to the hospital for the birth, and after half an hour, she was forced to leave the hospital due to the war circumstances, bombing and insecurity.
My brother's wife and her new daughter didn't receive proper treatment, medicines or any kind of follow-up. Moreover, the minimum standards of hygiene are not available inside the gym which they are taking as a shelter.
My brother's family consists of five members, a Parent and three children, who have lost not only their home but also their livelihoods and security. With their flat destroyed and their business in ruins, they are left with no choice but to flee for their safety.
My heart is heavy for my brother's children who have grown up amidst perpetual wars since birth. They have never had the privilege of experiencing a full day with electricity, a basic necessity.
We are reaching out with heavy hearts to support my brother's family to evacuate Gaza as soon as possible so that the children can get a better life and safety. Their once peaceful home has been reduced to rubble, leaving them with nothing but fear and uncertainty.
Their only hope for survival lies in evacuating to Egypt, where they can save their lives until find their way to another country. However, the costs associated with evacuation, temporary accommodation, and travel expenses are beyond their means.
We are calling on the global community to come together and support my brother's family in their time of need. Your generosity can provide them with the means to escape the horrors of war and rebuild their lives in a place where they can live without fear.
In order to leave Gaza via the Rafah border, people are required to pay US5000$ per adult and US2000$ per child, totally approximately EU16500£. Donations will not only cover these fees, accommodation, and living cost in Cairo, Egypt around EU 5000£, and travel expenses for five people around EU7000£. Additionally, the funds will account for the GoFundMe transaction fee, which amounts to 2.9% plus 25p per donation. We aim to raise $17.500 to cover the expenses of evacuation, 5000$ temporary accommodation, and 7.500$ travel expenses for five people. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference and bring them one step closer to safety.
Let us stand in solidarity with the Mohammed family and show them that they are not alone in their struggle. Your support today could mean the difference between life and death for this vulnerable family.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
