Hi my name is Beth, and my sister Misty, who you all know and love, needs your help. Misty recently underwent emergency surgery after weeks and weeks of pain in her neck after having a chiropractic adjustment. She sought second opinions and had numerous trips to the hospital. She was finally sent to Lincoln where she learned that herniated discs in her spine had become infected and abscessed. Her doctors were fearful of the damage this infection could cause so she underwent surgery where they remove the C4 and C5 vertebrae in her neck replacing them with titanium disks, using rods and screws to hold them in place.
Misty is currently still admitted and will be on powerful antibiotics 3x a day until January 7th to keep any infection at bay.
Following that, she will be expected to be in an in-patient rehabilitation center for the next 3-7 weeks relearning how to do the normal functions we take for granted. We are told she will have many more months of outpatient therapy, and 3-4 additional months in a neck brace.
She has a long road ahead of her, but if she’s anything, it’s a hard worker and one heck of a fighter.
Many of you know that Misty has been a small business owner for many years. She absolutely loves being a part of your families, so I’m reaching out asking for everyone’s help to take care of hers. With your help for medical and some monthly bills she can focus all of her attention on her road to recovery.
Please join me in helping to support her and her family when they need us the most. Thank you and please share with others
