Dear Friends and beyond,
My name is Bibian and I live in Zambia, Africa. I was diagnosed with INVASIVE CARCINOMA INSITU (breast cancer) in June 2020. I had MASTECTOMY (surgery) of the left breast and successfully completed 8 cycles of ADJUVANT CHEMOTHERAPY which I responded to very well. I was meant to start the next stage of 22 SESSIONS TARGETED RADIOTHERAPY AS A PREVENTATIVE TREATMENT IN JANUARY 2021.
However, I have been waiting for this treatment to date. Unfortunately, there is only one radiotherapy machine in Lusaka, Zambia which the entire country relies on. This machine is currently not working and there is a very long waiting list. I now risk the cancer spreading if I do not get this radiotherapy treatment ASAP.
As a result of this my family and I are now seeking treatment abroad. This therapy is available in hospitals in the UK, South Africa and India and would have to be self funded. The average cost of this treatment and associated costs is $15,000. We have so far raised $3,500 as a family and need an extra $11,500. The funds will go towards Whole body PET CT Scan, blood tests, Echo, Radiotherapy treatment and Review. and other medical tests. Other costs include Visa fees, Covid-Tests, Return Air tickets, Accommodation, Food, Local transport etc
Your donations, whatever the amount, will go towards supporting a much-loved mother, sister and friend. By extending my life I will be able to see my sons grow up. This would mean the world to me and to my entire family.
