Biking to Camp Hi-Rock to raise money for the camp
Tax deductible
On Thursday, July 18th, I am planning on leaving my home in Mamaroneck, NY to bike, with camping gear, to Camp Hi-Rock, a YMCA camp in Berkshires, Massachusetts. In order to avoid the main highways and to come up the backside of the mountain, which is less steep, I will be biking 125 miles and climbing about 10,000 feet. I plan on doing it over two days, camping at night.
The purpose of my ride, along with the experience, is to raise money for YMCA Camp Hi-Rock. I spent 44 weeks of my childhood there, 4 weeks my first summer, and 8 weeks for the following 5 summers. My daughter is currently a camper there. Camp Hi-Rock is an amazing place. It nurtures independence, integrity, diversity, creativity, humility and kindness. Part of the diversity comes from the fact that privileged children live and play side by side with disadvantaged kids. The camp has a strong financial aid program that allows children who otherwise would be unable to come the opportunity to attend.
My goal is to help raise money for the camp so it can continue to provide financial aid and make the necessary improvements and repairs needed to continue to operate at the highest level. All the money raised is being sent directly from Gofundme to Camp Hi-Rock and will have the tax benefits associated with donating to a non-profit organization. Every donation will receive a receipt.
I greatly appreciate all your support.
