Our robotics team needs YOUR help to get to WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in Houston April 16-20!
The Cobalt Colts (FTC team #6547) just got back from Missouri+Kansas State competition where we won 1st Selected Winning Alliance and 1st Place Promote awards.
We are the only Kansas FTC robotics team to ever qualify for Worlds and this is our second year in a row!
Attending World Championship is an expensive proposition! We need to raise $3,500 in just a few weeks to make the trip happen.
What is FTC?
FIRST Tech Challenge is for teams of high schoolers interested in learning how to apply STEM to a new robotic challenge each year. This year our robot uses sensors to drive itself and score points, then is remote-controlled by two drivers to pick up balls and cubes and deliver them to a scoring target. Our robot also has to lower itself down and climb back up onto a target at the end of the game.
We also work on outreach, promotion of STEM and robotics (especially with younger kids), connection with professional engineers in our community, and engineering design process. This isn't just about building robots, it's also about building connections with our community!
What Will Your Help Do?
By supporting the Cobalt Colts in traveling to Houston to compete in the World Championship, you are helping to pay for robot improvements, spare parts for the loooong Houston competition, a special air travel case for our robot, and meals. Lots and lots of meals!
