Xanthe and Snip's Road to 5 Star!

So here goes.. this is something I've been thinking about for over a year now but have been terrified to post. My entire eventing career has been leading up to the dream of going 5* and having qualified my horse of a lifetime to go to Pau at the end of October, I have realised the immense cost of trying to take a horse abroad. Over the last few years, I have worked alongside my studies to support the cost of eventing and I am now a full-time employee in pharmaceuticals alongside my equestrian passion.

It is many riders dream to reach the top like this and now I'm here, I've realised the only thing holding me back is trying to finance it. The problems with travelling horses abroad after leaving the EU, as well as the increase in membership costs and entries this year, especially at the higher levels, has left a lot of people struggling financially and in turn increased the difficulty in trying to reach season goals, let alone lifelong dreams! In life, I am told you regret the things you don't do more than the things you do, so no matter how difficult this has been to write, I am shamelessly hoping some of you will see this as a plea to help me achieve my dreams and not as anything else.

In return for your help, as I know this is going to be a huge ask to raise anywhere near the target amount, any money raised over the cost of the event will be donated to the BE SUPPORT TRUST. In light of the number of accidents this year, the BE Support Trust helps riders injured during competition and training. The charity not only recognises the physical burden of injury but the impact on mental health that an interruption can cause; supporting athletes financially, physically and mentally.
