Cancer Sucks!

Hi, I am Alyssa Burks’ mother in law. They are too proud, I however, am not….there is nothing worse than when your child cries on your shoulder because they are so worried and scared of what is to come. The love of their life is ill, and there is nothing you can do but encourage hope and faith.

After almost 2 years of different symptoms and complaints, Alyssa finally got a diagnosis. It is not good….gastric cancer. At this point we don’t even know what stage it is in. This particular cancer is aggressive and can only be cured by removing her entire stomach or it is relentless. Before this, she will still have to undergo aggressive chemo for two months and then chemo for another two months after the surgery. She has a procedure this week to make sure the cancer hasn’t spread. Which brings me to….Although Alyssa has medical insurance, even after numerous appointments, procedures, and $50 copays thus far, she has not met her deductible. She has additional procedures and bloodwork that require her to meet her deductible. They were already going through financial hardship with only one income when they they got this devastating news.

As much as this mamma heart would like to help I cannot do it alone. They need over $1200 for the deductible and are going to need money for parking for the duration of the treatments.

I totally understand if you cannot monetarily support, we will also take your positive thoughts, prayers, vibes, or whatever you’re in to. As our family walks this path, we need all the extra prayer and positive vibes we can get.
