Please Help Our Mommy Amanda Jones Beat Cancer

Hello, my name is Emmett and I am 4-years old and my 1-year old little brother is Gabriel. We are asking you to please help our mommy Amanda Jones because she is very sick. She has a rare form of cancer called Nasopharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma. That is a big long name, but it means she has cancer behind her nose where her throat begins.
Please allow me to tell you a little bit about my wonderful family. Mommy and daddy (Amanda and Steven Jones) met seven years ago at Sugar Hollow Park in Bristol, Virginia. In less than a month they were dating. Our daddy was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and mommy worked at Sprint in Bristol, Virginia. They fell in love and five months later daddy asked mommy to marry him. A month later he was deployed to Iwakuni, Japan. When he returned, they were married in Blountville, Tennessee on August 10, 2013, at Charity Baptist Church. Once again, however, daddy was deployed back to Iwakuni for seven months. It was very lonely for mommy without him but soon after he returned, she found out she was going to have a baby. This was really exciting because the doctors were not sure if she could have babies. Sadly, on October 18th, 2014 she miscarried, and mommy was very sad.
When she was better, mommy returned to work and tried her best to understand why God decided that her baby should be with him in heaven. God saw that she really wanted a baby and on New Years 2015 she found out that another one was on the way. On August 30, 2015, I was born, and they named me Emmett Michael Jones. The Marine Corps decided to deploy daddy again and sent him back to Iwakuni, but this time I kept my Mommy company. After his return, it was discovered that daddy had something wrong with his heart and he had to have surgery. On November 10, 2016, he was honorably discharged, and we moved to Bristol, Tennessee.
Before long mommy told me that God was giving me a little brother. I was really excited and so were they. Even though God decided her first baby should live with him, he was now blessing her with two boys. Everything was going great and everyone was happy. Daddy graduated from Northeast State Community College and got a great job at Brightridge in Johnson City, Tennessee. On June 28, 2018, we bought a new house and got everything ready for my baby brother’s arrival. Gabriel Luke Jones was born on September 5, 2018. Like me, he made my mommy and daddy very happy. With daddy’s new job and two babies to watch after, they decided that it would be best for mommy to stay home to take care of us.
In early 2019, my mommy’s momaw started getting sick. This was very hurtful because we loved her so very much. The doctors said that she had cancer, kind of like my mommy and that she did not have long to live. Momow died on April 15th, 2019. It was about this time that mommy started getting sick. At first, she thought that it was just a sinus infection. Everybody gets those occasionally. The doctor put her on antibiotics and told her that she would be fine. A week later, the doctor put her on another round of antibiotics along with other medicine and had her take some tests. They called mommy and told her she tested positive for a blood clot. More tests determined this was not the case, but mommy was still sick. She started having problems getting her breath. The doctor put her on anxiety medicine because he thought she was just nervous about losing her momaw. These problems continued so mommy finally went to see an ENT specialist to see why she could not breathe.
On September 19th the ENT placed a scope into mommy’s sinuses and found a mass. On October 8th they removed a tumor about the size of a golf ball. The next day the doctor called with horrible news. She said that my mommy had cancer. This was not just any cancer; however, it is a very rare form. They said that only 3% of cancer cases in the United States are Nasopharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma. In fact, they said that it is usually seen in older men from Southeast Asia. My mommy is not from there, so I do not understand why she is sick. Lately, she has been going to see lots of doctors and just returned from Vanderbilt Medical Center where several great doctors want to make my mommy better. They said that she needs to have 9 weeks of a special Chemotherapy and 7 more weeks of Chemotherapy and Photon Radiation therapy.
The doctors at Vanderbilt said that they can make our mommy better again so she can take care of us, but the treatments are going to be very hard on her. She will be in a lot of pain, lose her hair, be very weak, and even sicker before she gets better. My little brother and I need your help. These treatments are very expensive. She has to stay in Nashville, Tennessee for two long months and even though my daddy works very hard, we cannot afford to send her there without your help. Please help us make our mommy better! We need her and want her to be free of this sickness. God is great.
Thank You,
Emmett.
Hello and thank you to all who take the time to read this. I am Emmett and Gabriel’s grandfather. Yes, you guessed it, I am the one putting a voice to my grandchildren’s concern. Indeed, they do have a wonderful family and my daughter is an awesome mother. She and Steven have endeavored to raise their children in a Godly household and overcome many obstacles during their young marriage. While we do not understand why God has allowed this to come into their lives, we rest assured that it is all a part of his plan.
As you may guess, Steven and Amanda do not want to ask for help, but sometimes we must. Often, we all suffer from the “I can do it on my own” attitude. The scriptures, however, encourages us to seek help when needed. We ask God daily for help and he wants us to do so because he guides us in the correct paths. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, instead, it indicates strength and wisdom. The Bible says that the sin of pride causes many to stumble and not ask for help when needed. John 14:13-14 says “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.” Romans 12:5 states “In the same way, even though we are many individuals, Christ makes us one body and individuals who are connected to each other.” We are asking the father in Jesus’ name and our connected body for help.
Please help our daughter, Steven’s wife, and Emmett and Gabriel’s mommy to beat this evil disease. We will all be eternally grateful for your love and compassion. If you cannot help financially, please help by praying for Amanda.
God Bless You!
