Over the last few months I’ve been doing everything I can to stay afloat, but living with a Traumatic Brain Injury adds layers of difficulty that aren’t always visible. Even when I’m doing “well,” the cognitive fatigue, overwhelm, anxiety, depression and more make it harder to keep up with day-to-day responsibilities.
I’m reaching out because the combination of emergency expenses and the basics I need to survive this month and stay stable while managing my TBI and other injuries.
Most urgently is my dog Buster who desperately needs to see a veterinarian. He still has years ahead of him but needs vaccinations, medication for arthritis and pain. I am not ready to say goodbye to my companion who has not left my side since I was discharged from the hospital 14 years ago.
He was 12 weeks old when I got him and was with me when I was learning how to walk on my own and navigate my way through my days.
He's my reason for getting up in the morning. I am desperate to give him the best life possible while he's still with me.
I am confident there will come a day when I no longer need to ask for help but I'm not there yet and your support means more to me that you can imagine.
If you're not able to donate, I would appreciate it if you could share this with others who might be willing and able. Also, if you could post this on your social media sites to help spread the word.
Gratefully,
Theo
