I have known Pegah for over 10 years and our children were born 4 days apart. When Layla had her first hemorrhage at 7 months old, we weren't sure if she would make it. It was devestating. After that day she spent many months in the children's hospital. Too make matters worse her father abandoned her at this terrible time. I cannot even imagine the pain and fear my best friend was going through. Years passed and Layla has suffered many seizures. She has had  many difficult procedures, therapy and radiation that proved to be unaffective. Now Pegahs worst nightmare has come true. Layla had another debilitating hemorrhage. She was rushed to the hospital where they preformed yet another brain surgery. I have been apart of this family for many years, and it pains me to see such heartbreak. However anyone that knows Layla, knows she is a vibrant beautiful happy child. She is stronger and more positive than most adults I know. The next few weeks and months will be spent at the hospital while she is now in a coma, and I know that even though her mother would never ask, that she would be forever grateful for any donations towards Layla's care. She has single handedly raised this beautiful smart little girl and has been strong by her side the entire way. Pegah is someone I admire and respect. She is my sister. Her family is my family.
