We’re writing this because our brother Peter is fighting the hardest battle of his life. Over a year ago, he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Since then, everything in his and his family’s life has changed. He has worked hard to take care of his family, to make sure that they are safe and supported. But because of his illness, he hasn’t been

able to work for the past year while going through appointments, treatments, and the challenges that come with cancer.

Recently, we were given a ray of hope.

After several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, lifesaving surgery to remove the tumor is not possible, in Finland, where he resides. With luck, he found a specialized clinic in Portugal that is willing to perform this complex surgery. This could be his best chance to keep fighting and to give him more time with his family.

As expected, the surgery is very costly, and the recovery process will also be long and difficult. The costs include the surgery, hospitalization, and travel expenses for the six weeks needed for recovery.

We are creating this fundraiser to help ease some of the financial burden during an already incredibly difficult time, so our brother has the chance to keep fighting, stay with us, and watch his children grow up. As a father, he is everything to his children. He’s the one who helps them when they’re struggling, celebrates their achievements, and always reminds them to stay strong. Now he’s the one who needs support.
