I set up a spotfund account instead. Spotfund doesn’t take a percentage of donations. Here is the link. Sorry for confusion. http://spot.fund/6j3jdlxsc
One moment changed everything, with endless challenges. But we’re not giving up on Josh’s recovery
On July 22nd, my husband Josh was in a horrible motorcycle accident.
He was life-flighted to Scottsdale Osborne Medical Center, where he spent 12 days in the ICU on a ventilator. 5 days in he got a tracheostomy, the day after that we found a blood clot in his right leg. He had an IVV filter placed to prevent the clot from causing more damage. It took along time to wean him from
the sedation meds because he kept getting severely agitated when we would start to wean down. It would take 4 plus people to hold him down and restart the medications. So hard to watch as his wife. After finally being weaned down from sedation meds he moved to the neuro floor for 4 days, and since August 6th, he has been in the acute rehab unit receiving intense physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
Physically, Josh is making great progress, but neurologically he still has a long road ahead. His speech therapy is focused on helping his brain recover so he can regain as much function as possible.
I have not been working since the accident, staying by his side every single day to advocate for him and ensure he receives the best care and resources needed for his recovery. Even after Josh is discharged, our journey will be far from over. We will need to make frequent trips back to the Valley for ongoing therapies to keep him on track with his progress. Once we find a good routine at home, I plan to return to work—but until then, finances will be tight.
If you are able to help in any way, it would mean the world to us. Your support—whether through a donation, prayers, positive thoughts, or even simply sharing this page—makes a difference.
We are so grateful to everyone who has already reached out, helped, and supported us through this difficult time. We love and appreciate you all more than words can say.
