As many of you have probably heard, Christopher was a in a bad motorcycle accident on February 20th, and although he's making slight improvements, his lungs were severely bruised and still cannot breathe on his own a week later. There is currently not a time frame for when he'll be out of the ICU, but there's no doubt that his recovery time will be a long and difficult process.
Quick summary on the situation. He was in a head-on collision with a concrete road barrier and broke 12 ribs, his collarbone, fractured his skull and severely bruised both lungs. He had surgery to repair his rib cage which included 10 titanium plates to hold the fractured ribs together.
There's nothing Chris hates more than a hand-out, so he would not be happy with us for doing this, but we don't know how much of his bills will be covered by the VA and he does not have supplemental health insurance outside of the VA. These bills could get very high because he's been at a non-VA hospital since the accident a week ago and still is not stable enough to be transferred to a VA hospital. He will be able to go on disability, but his bills will be piling up, so any help is much appreciated.
He's a Marine veteran who did 3 tours in Iraq, so physical and mental toughness are two of his strong suits, but he needs all of those he's befriended over the years to help him out right now. We're amazed at how many people have already reached out, as his network is so incredibly vast, it's incredible. He is currently the Sales Manager at East Orlando Harley, which he absolutely loves, and is going to be anxious to get back to work with his buddies but will need a lot of time to heal. If you feel led to donate to his fund to help with monthly expenses along with medical bills that will not be covered, that would be greatly appreciated.
