We are Frumptarn Guggenband! Based in Barnsley, we’ve been blasting out Guggen music across the UK for over 20 years.

“What’s Guggen music?” we hear you ask...

It’s the wild, joyful sound that takes over the streets of Europe during carnival season every year — a mash-up of brass, percussion, and pure party energy. Each band has its own unique look, which switches up every few years to keep things fresh.

Those who know us will remember our past transformations — from Yorkshire miners to Mexican Day of the Dead. Most recently, we rocked the stage with our Bowie-inspired ‘Star Man’ look!⚡️ It’ll be hard to top, but we’re ready to go bigger, brighter, and bolder than ever!

And here’s the exciting part: we don’t just want to reveal our new look… we want to bring the European carnival vibe to Barnsley! That means inviting Guggen bands we’ve met on our travels to join us for a massive launch extravaganza right here in our hometown.

But here’s the thing: costumes and carnivals aren’t cheap.

We’re aiming to raise £5,000 to cover new uniforms and the costs of putting on an unforgettable event. As much as we love performing for our community (often regardless of the £££), big projects like this need a little extra help.
