UPDATE, MARCH 2020
We successfully acquired a new space in Berlin Wedding from March 1st, and were set to reopen after renovations on Monday, March 16th. Then, Corona Virus hit.
Now, we have a beautiful new Community Center — aequa CC — but we're not sure when we will get to reopen.
In the meantime, we still have to pay bills for rent, internet, insurance and all the other costs that come with having our own space. So we're adapting this fund to help us SAVE OUR SPACE. Your contributions during this difficult period are greatly appreciated.
One thing's for sure — no virus will stop us from living our purpose! Please be sure to follow us on social or subscribe to email (all links at http://linktr.ee/aequa) to hear more about the digital solutions we're planning for our ongoing community work.

Our vision is an equitable society in which every person can thrive.
We co-create spaces for mutual support and collective empowerment. That usually takes the form of events focused on exchanging resources, tackling shared challenges, and collaborating to build the world we dream of.
Together, we explore our individual potential and our collective power.
ORIGINAL CAMPAIGN TEXT:
Have you ever found yourself wishing that you had a space you go could go for a midday break or in the evenings after work, to meet with friends and other likeminded folks, to share your experiences, to build knowledge, to learn and collaborate?
Berlin is full of spaces to meet over drinks, or to dance as long as your heart desires — and yet when we talked to people in our community, we all felt that we wished we had space where we had some more control and responsibility over what happens inside, where we can turn dialogue about the things we care about into action and solutions. A place where we can meet to support each other, in person.
This space will be centered on values of empathy, equity, respect and exchange. It will be a place of preference for folks that exist in the margins in the outside world. A space where we value, honor and celebrate our differences.
This seed campaign is looking to cover:
- Incorporation costs, including legal and accounting costs
- Platform and payment fees for our bigger crowdfunding campaign next year
- Pilot events we will continue to host at The Workshop on Forster and other locations throughout 2019
- Marketing costs (e.g. website) to grow awareness of our project
With those costs covered, any additional funds raised from this campaign will go towards other costs of maintaining the business as we grow, such as accounting costs, deposit on the space, or building/development costs for the space.
