Hello everyone,
We’re Heidi and family - and we’re excited to share a dream that’s about to take root!
We want to move our beloved fruit tree business from our garage to a beautiful old property with significant agricultural history in Parsons Road, Forest Glen, that will give us more space and opportunity to share our agricultural knowledge with a wider section of the community. We are going to build something truly special: Fruit Tree Cottage.
This new venture carries forward our family’s legacy of being involved in agriculture on the Sunshine Coast for more than three generations. Establishing Fruit Tree Cottage in the heart of the community is the first link in a longer-term project for a pick-your-own orchard. In partnership with Farleigh Farms, our vision is to provide an educational space for children and families to learn about growing food and about the rich history of agriculture on the Sunshine Coast. We will host workshops on home orcharding, pruning, soil health, regenerative farming practices, and more.
Our new home will be more than just a fruit tree nursery. It will eventually be filled with life, knowledge and heart. We need your help to bring this vision to life.
We are passionate about sharing knowledge with our customers and inspiring future generations to get involved with gardening and growing fruit and edibles. We have loyal customers and have had the opportunity to share our knowledge with garden clubs and community gardens. Now it's time to take the next step so we can be accessible to more of the community.
We’ve found the perfect property to make this dream come to life - but moving, setting up infrastructure, and creating a welcoming, safe space for the community requires a helping hand.
Your support will help us:
- Prepare the land and establish the nursery area, irrigation, tanks and hail nets
- Set up the cottage and surrounding land for future workshops and visitors, and ability to retail our plants in a safe setting
- Create a cosy reading/learning/consultation corner filled with gardening books, local history books, and local insect and wildlife picture walls.
We believe that growing fruit trees with your family in your backyard is a worthy thing to do to stay connected with seasons, nature, and the history of farming here on the Sunshine Coast. Over the coming years, our goal is to create a vibrant, sustainable, and unique destination where people can pick fruit, enjoy events, take part in hands-on learning, and leave inspired to grow their own food at home.
Every contribution, big or small, helps us bring this vision to life - a place where learning, community, and local history flourish together.
Thank you for helping us plant the seeds of something truly meaningful for our Sunshine Coast community.
With gratitude,
Heidi & Family
