Fruit LoOops Gear Recovery Fund

Donation protected
On July 24th 2023, Fruit LoOops was on day 4 of our summer tour. Our band arrived in Montreal the night before the show. We stayed at a hotel that night and around 3 am one of the band members went to their car and found it was stolen with shards of glass on the ground remaining. We traveled with two vehicles and the car that held most of the gear for the entire tour was the one that was taken. The following morning the police assisted us and we found most of the gear thrown over a 6 foot fence in a park several miles away. The car was never found but the majority of the gear was. Many smaller items, like drum stands and pedals, were not dumped and were never found. Due to the throw, most of the larger pieces of equipment broke on impact or soon after. Along with the gear, the majority of CDs/Tapes we were going to sell were completely destroyed. We were able to complete the tour by scrounging for lesser quality pieces of equipment the following days at Guitar Centers or borrowing from other bands and are very fortunate for their help. Some of the equipment didn’t need to be immediately replaced, but due to the damage, they have the potential of breaking at any time.

We filed an insurance claim for the stolen and broken gear of $10,000 which was at minimum what was needed to replace. The claim came through mid-September and we were only awarded $500 of the $10,000, even though items in the car should have been covered up to $16,000 under the policy.

Our band is now about to venture on an even longer tour this November of 2023 and we need help recovering costs and replacing the gear that was damaged/stolen this past summer. Listed below are the items that were affected by the incident:
