My name is Frozen, I am an autistic (possibly AuDHD) adult with many co-morbidities, all of which make my independent life harder than most. I struggled to hold most jobs, which led me to open my own business, Egghead Canine Education. Even with this accommodation, I still have required years of therapy and specialized counseling. Now my care team and I have decided the best move forward for me to live my fullest and most independent life is to obtain a Psychiatric Service Dog.
A PSD would provide many tasks, including interrupting self-harm, alerting to disruptive/ painful stims, and retrieving my care kit, blocking people in crowds and lines, physical grounding and deep pressure therapy, alerting to high heart rate/ stress & lots more! This will allow me to cope with daily stressors in harmless ways, prevent or ease meltdowns and shutdowns, exist outside of my home for longer periods and in more places and scenarios, as well as recover quicker after high-stress scenarios.
PHEONIX ASSISTENCE DOGS OF CENTRAL PA have approved me for a lab puppy by breeder mom Glory. Glory is a gentle, intuitive, smaller Labrador; her and the chosen sire, have over 30 years of combined breeding towards exceptional service dog health and temperament behind them. These traits are why this litter has been selected for my needs by PAD.
The total cost of a service dog from PAD is $2500. So, I need $1600 to bring my prospect puppy home! I have saved $900 myself and will continue saving until my puppy comes home. All $1600 donated will be used to pay Phoenix Assistance Dogs for my puppy. Thank you for helping me make my life as full and independent as possible!
