Hi, I’m Janelle — the heart behind Chocolate Janelle ja, where every handcrafted bite tells the story of one simple caramel recipe passed down through generations. A recipe gifted to my mother, and then to me. A gift full of love, warmth, and the belief that something small like a piece of chocolate can bring people joy.

My mother is a wonderful cook and baker. She always told me, “You can do something special with these recipes if you focus and work hard. This could be great for you.” Her words stayed with me. Because for us, it’s not just about making sweets it’s about serving our community, honoring our ancestors, and sharing love through every ingredient.

I’m the first generation in my family to turn our food tradition into a business. I owe it to my mother, my great-grandfather, and those who came before me. Chocolates and sweet treats make people happy — and I love being part of that joy.

A Dream Passed Down:

This journey began decades ago in my great-grandmother’s kitchen, continued through my mom — a passionate baker and single mother who dreamed of owning her own bakery — and now lives on through me.

Though life didn’t make it easy for her to launch a business, she never let the dream die. She passed it on to me.

Today, I carry that dream with love, humility, and purpose — building Chocolate Janelle ja from our family’s cherished recipes and values. Over the past 12 years, I’ve poured my heart into perfecting our sweets, blending tradition with creativity to serve our community one handcrafted bite at a time.

What began with a few chocolate bars made in our home kitchen has blossomed into a growing brand rooted in flavor, family, and purpose.
