We are heartbroken to share that Froylan, a kind and hardworking man who was a part of our community, passed away unexpectedly this week.

Froylan was a familiar face in Dearborn Park, where he cared for our green spaces and made sure everything around us worked as it should. Froylan showed up every day. He took quiet pride in his work, and many of us came to know and respect him.

What many didn’t see was that Froylan held two jobs to support his family. He worked tirelessly to provide for his wife and young daughter, who are now left without their husband, father, and sole provider.

We’re raising funds through GoFundMe to:

• Cover funeral and burial expenses

• Provide immediate support for his wife and daughter

• Help ease the financial hardship created by the sudden loss of income

The funds will be sent directly to Zayra Gonzalez (Froy’s widow).
