Greetings Citizens and Fellow Patriots,
My name is Lashawn J. Craig, and here’s my account:
As a 16-year combat Veteran of the United States Armed Forces and a dedicated Junior Man Train Operator for the MTA/NYCT, I have always stood on the frontlines—whether it was safeguarding our Nation’s shared ideals of FREEDOM and SAFETY values abroad or ensuring the SAFETY and efficiency of our City’s transportation. However, today, I stand before you on a different battlefield—a Judicial one that has unfortunately unfolded in my home, “LITERALLY”.
On a day that was meant to be like any other, November 17, 2023, my sense of security was shattered when an intruder trespassed into the peace of my Home, and I was faced with a threat not just to the property but potentially to my Life. Despite my repeated pleas, the invader chose to escalate the situation, leading to a confrontation where I was forced to act in self-defense. Unfortunately, the aftermath has been a whirlwind of legal challenges and moral questioning from the very organization (MTA/NYCT) for which I work, now leaving me to defend not just my actions but the very values I have been trained to uphold and have repeatedly fought to protect.
The stakes are VERY high, not just for me (Lashawn J. Craig) but for every citizen who believes in the right to protect themselves, their families, their homes and their businesses. I will admit, the financial burden to fight this battle is already immense, but the cost of passivity could have been far greater.
I urge all Guardians of Life and freedom to rally with me, understanding that your support transcends my individual plight and symbolizes the readiness of any Citizen to encounter challenges similar to mine. Furthermore, I am pledging to allocate surplus funds, outside of my immediate legal needs, to assist in building a shield around fellow New York City sanctuary owners facing comparable adversities under horrendously oppressive weapon laws.
I humbly appreciate you ALL in advance for your unwavering solidarity, and I truly think together we can ensure that this struggle does not end with me but leads to a future where every Citizen can rightfully DEFEND their peaceful domain.
