As many of you know, Solomon Donald tragically lost his battle with COVID 19. There is no doubt he is now at peace in Heaven.
Solomon was a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician with Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ for 9 years. Besides Trinitas, he also was a healthcare worker for St. Barnabas Medical Center in Somerset, NJ as a Hyperbaric Safety Officer. Throughout the years as an Emergency Medical Technician, Solomon treated his patients with dignity, kindness and tremendous compassion. He always showed up to work with kind words and a smile on his face.
Solomon devoted his life to his community, family, friends, and the patients he helped. He leaves behind his greatest loves: his wife Renee, son Soul, and daughter Journey. Solomon was a man who looked forward to helping his children grow and experience life to the fullest. He loved coaching his son's basketball team and singing old school hip hop with his daughter.
Solomon was many things, including: funny, smart, kind, compassionate, and selfless. He never thought twice about putting others before himself. He touched the lives of everyone he met and was always willing to listen and offer help, support, guidance and advice.
Solomon had always supported others, now it is our turn to support him by helping his family. Your generous donation will go to Solomon's family to help them through this difficult time.
Below are words from friends and co-workers:
"Rest Easy Solomon Donald. You were a caring EMT, a great father, and soulful spirit. You were my favorite shift partner and I deeply appreciate all the time I got to spend with you in the rig, debating the intricacies of life and sharing a mutual love for lyrical rap and poetry. We grew a bond that could only be formed by spending 12 hours a day, day in and day out, in the muck together. May your creative spirit live on through your children, and may they know the caliber of man their dad was. My thoughts are with you and your family."

"Solomon Donald was a great man. He wore many hats, and he wore them well. He was first and foremost a family man. Many of our conversations centered around them. The basketball practices with his son. How he would sing old school hip hop with his daughter. The vacation cruises to the islands with the fam. The concerts and delicious restaurants he would go with his wife. We would have our daily Sunday night conversations about life, sports, music, fashion, politics, etc. I often thing about how our conversation would go now about the current events. He was special, he made sure he greeted everyone and asked how their day was going and genuinely did care. If you needed to talk, he was there. Talking to Solomon was therapeutic; he was full of great advice. Solomon was inspirational, he lived life well, left no stone unturned. I miss the man. I know he is in a better place, and I am grateful for the good times we shared together. Prayers up.
Thank You Solomon"
Sincerely Ralph

I met Solomon being his partner on the night shift. Everyone knows on the night shift is just you and your partner having each other’s back for 12 hours. In those 12 hours you tend to talk a lot about life and especially about family. What I want the people to know about Solomon is that he loved his family. He would talk about his love for his children his wife all the time, his love of Brooklyn and fun and sometimes hard times as kid. Solomon would always give you good advice and encouragement, he was the type of man who pushed himself to achieve his goals and when others saw that they wanted to do the same.

I am so blessed to have cross paths with an amazing man. Solomon and I met at Trinitas Medical Center, where we both worked as EMTs. Within day of us working together we became good friends. When I left Trinitas, he always kept in touch. I am beyond grateful for our friendship. Solomon always made people feel seen. He was very attentive to everyone’s needs. The news was tough for many people because not every day do you meet a man like Solomon. He always had knowledge to give to anyone willing to listen. He was a forward thinking man. He came up with the most innovative ideas that he wanted to implement at work. A day would not go by without him talking about his wife and children. My God he loved them so. I am proud to call him a friend. He will never be forgotten. I pray that he rest in power. He will truly be missed.
