From Ashy to Classy
Dear Teachers, Parents and Hip-Hop Community,
My name is Allen Perry and I'm raising funds to help communities lacking resources develop their aspiring entrepreneurs and music artists.
I wrote and published a 341-page self-help curriculum for teenagers that teaches entrepreneurship through hip-hop, titled, "Hip-Hop 4 Freshmen". (Click the link to look inside). The curriculum has been reviewed and is supported by parents, teachers and principals in middle schools and high schools in New York City.
Why teach entrepreneurship through hip-hop? Hip-Hop has a global impact on every industry, and education is no exception. Hip-Hop is used in middle schools and high schools nationwide to teach English, math, creative writing, history, poetry and many other subjects. In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop I published Hip-Hop 4 Freshmen to commemorate this historical moment in time, and to honor hip-hop's contribution to education by teaching people entrepreneurship.
I've spent over 15 years perfecting the Hip-Hop 4 Freshmen curriculum while mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs along the way. I recently was given the opportunity to teach an entrepreneurship program at Harlem Children Zone Promise Academy in Harlem, NYC. Now I'm asking you to make this mission ours.
Our mission is to:
1- Help impoverished communities develop their entrepreneurs.
2- Supply schools nationwide with a culturally relevant curriculum for teenagers and young adults that matures their passion, interests and talents into a business
3- Help middle schools and high schools decrease drop-out rates and increase graduation rates
4- Utilize entrepreneurship to empower young teenagers with transferable employee skills that can be used in various industries
5- Empower aspiring music artists and entrepreneurs with the resources needed to start their business
6- Provide parents with an engaging homeschool curriculum teaching entrepreneurship through hip-hop music
7- To replace drugs and violence in inner cities with entrepreneurship through hip-hop
Everyone has a dream but everyone doesn't have the opportunity or resources. Your contribution will ensure every aspiring entrepreneur gets a copy of Hip-Hop 4 Freshmen and enrollment in our 30-Day Entrepreneur Program. My team and I are traveling from city to city, school to school nationwide from one deprived community to the next cultivating aspiring entrepreneurs between the ages of 16 and 21.
Everyone has a dream but everyone doesn't have the opportunity or resources. Join Us. Make your contribution today! No amount is too small and every donation is deeply appreciated.
Thank You,
Allen F. Perry
