“The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
But we’re strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's our brother”
Michael Wayne Tomko is not only a brother to us siblings, Frank, Kenny, Susan & Brian. He’s also a soul brother to many lifelong friends. As well as a husband and a father. If you know him, you know his heart. It’s big and gracious. He’s that guy who sacrifices his time at the drop of a hat. To lend a hand, support your needs or simply offer his ear or shoulder. His heart is a special one. But it needs your help...
In July 2019 Michael was diagnosed with heart disease, and was in need of immediate open-heart surgery. In August 2019 Michael had the surgery to replace his main Aorta Valve. And within 1 week, Michael's heart was not responding well. And it was determined that he needed a defibrillator. Shortly thereafter, Michael was continuing to experience more problems which were diagnosed as an elevated Afib which required another week in the hospital to get his heart back in rhythm.
Now a regular heart patient, Michael continues to see his doctors regularly. But unfortunately, he experienced some further issues and it was determined Michael was experiencing severe nerve pain. This led to spine & neck surgery in December 2019 to correct 4 severely damaged discs. After all of this, we were hopeful that Michael was going to show improvement. However, he has continued to experience more nerve issues. Which another surgery very soon is imminent.
Our brother is so important to our family! And priceless to his wife Tracy and daughter’s Molly & Emma.
Donations towards his medical bills is greatly appreciated. Nothing is too small!
“So on we go,
His welfare is of our concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there
...he’s our brother.”
