From Wales to Poland by train
Donation protected
Not a trainspotter, but a regular person who loves travelling by train mostly because of the warm memories of long journeys with my late grandma.
In the age of cheap flight tickets, the great train adventures are not as attractive. In the age of fast travel and mindless hours waiting for the flight, I want to slow down before I forget what life is all about.
So, I am embarking on a journey by train from Cardiff (Wales, UK) to Gorzow Wielkpolski (Poland), which is around 900 miles, give or take, depending on the mode of transport.
To fly, I need a train, then bus, flight, bus, and train. Probably 12hrs from start to end. It might cost me around £100.
The same distance by train can take up to 24hrs and a lot more to cover the costs of the tickets.
So, to make it fun, suitable and worth it, I plan to interail across the continent and join sustainable projects in exchange for bread and breakfast!
Fancy supporting my dream and helping me make the case for slow travel?
The funds will go toward the cost of the interrail ticket and food :)
