I'm Anna, the heart and mind behind House of Dandylion and Alchemical Art Studios. Two years ago, you helped make an impossible dream a reality, my debut in Artist Alley at Awesome Con 2024. Because of you, I connected with hundreds of humans, and saw little Black girls see themselves in my character Takoda. This year's path back has been a rollercoaster. When acceptance notifications went out in early January, I was placed on the waitlist. Then! On February 5th, I got the news…a spot in Artist Alley for Awesome Con 2026 (March 13-15) had opened up for us!
This is a massive opportunity, but it comes with a tight deadline. We have just two weeks to prepare for what normally takes months. I am all in, but I can't do it alone.
Your support is crucial right now! Why?
This last-minute acceptance is a great, but it means we are on a compressed production timeline. To create a magical, sustainable experience, I need help covering the following expenses:
• Fast-track new merchandise (enamel pins - 4 new designs! est. $400 w/shipping)
• Order new prints (4 new digital print designs!) est $100 w/shipping
• Create new fan art merch (2 new designs!) est. $75
• Purchase Liability Insurance for event (required by the event organizers) est. $84
• Secure Con support: In 2024, burnout was real. Part of this budget ensures I can hire an assistant, allowing me to take breaks to recharge so I can be fully present at the booth. This needs to be arranged now. Two hours for Saturday and Sunday @ $25 per hour (total $100).
• Last-minute arrangements for supplies/equipment for setup and travel (est: $300)
- This will allow me to purchase a wagon (I learned that its less stressful to walk your equipment into the convention center instead of waiting hours to get to the loading dock.)
