From Vietnam with hope—running my first marathon

I was born on a boat between Vietnam and China, a child of parents fleeing the aftermath of the Vietnam War. My family’s journey was one of uncertainty and hope—leaving everything behind in search of freedom and a better life.
By a stroke of luck and the kindness of others, I was given the chance to grow up in Sweden, where freedom and education were rights, not privileges. I know firsthand that this is not the reality for everyone, especially for many children in Vietnam today.
That’s why I am dedicating my very first marathon to Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation. Their mission is close to my heart: fighting human trafficking and providing educational support to children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Vietnam.
On October 25th, I will run 42.195 kilometers not just for myself, but for a future where every child has the chance to learn, grow, and live free from exploitation.
For the next three months, I invite you to join me on this journey. You can:
Donate to support Blue Dragon’s life-changing work
Estimated annual cost per child for these items: VND 1.2–1.4 million ($48–$56).
Uniforms: ~VND 600,000
Textbooks: ~VND 400,000
Supplies: ~VND 300,000
With $1,400 we can help roughly 25 children covering all these costs for a year

Run or walk in solidarity - find me on Strava where we can encourage each other
Together, we can make a difference—one step, one child, one future at a time.
