From Venezuela to America: A Love Story

We are a newlywed couple in our early thirties, working hard to build a life and start a family together. We have been navigating the immigration process, which has proven to be a costly and lengthy journey. As we take the steps toward legalizing our life together here in the U.S., we are asking for your help with the financial burden of the legal paperwork and associated fees.

I am a proud American, and I consider myself immensely blessed to have had great-grandparents who sacrificed everything to immigrate to this country. My great-grandfather dreamed of becoming a pilot in the U.S. Air Force to fight for this great nation of freedom and opportunity. However, due to his Japanese heritage, the closest he came to his dream was sweeping the hangars where they kept the planes. My family endured hardship during their internment in the Japanese-American concentration camps during World War II, yet they remained resilient and determined to prove their loyalty and give their children the chance at a better life and the possibility of achieving the American Dream.

My husband was born in Maturín, Venezuela, a city that has faced severe economic hardship in recent years under the authoritarian Maduro regime. He dreams of the same opportunities that my family fought for and that we are trying to build together.

The immigration process is a complex and costly journey, with legal fees adding up quickly. We want to do everything by the book, and we’re asking for support to help cover the costs of the necessary legal paperwork and filing fees.
