Join Me on My UWC Journey: Raising Funds for Tuition

Hi everyone!

My name is Maya, and I’m a high school student and a proud third-culture kid. I have been shaped by the unique blend of cultures, languages, and experiences that come with living in different parts of the world. Growing up in this diverse environment, I’ve developed a passion for understanding different perspectives and bridging divides — something that has led me to a life-changing opportunity.

I’ve been accepted to the United World College (UWC) program, a transformative two-year educational journey that brings together students from all corners of the globe. UWC’s mission is to inspire young people to take action for a peaceful and sustainable world, and I’m excited to be part of this community of changemakers.

However, in order to attend, I need your help to raise $10,000 to cover the remaining costs of tuition and fees for my first year.

Why UWC?

UWC is not just a school — it’s a movement. It offers an education that emphasizes academic excellence, intercultural understanding, and community service. The program’s rigorous curriculum includes the International Baccalaureate (IB), which is known for its focus on critical thinking, global awareness, and social responsibility. UWC students come from all walks of life and all parts of the world, and together we work to address the challenges facing humanity, from environmental issues to human rights.

For me, UWC represents an incredible opportunity to continue my personal growth, contribute to positive change, and connect with like-minded peers from different backgrounds. Being a third-culture kid, I’ve always felt a strong pull to understand the world more deeply, to listen to others, and to find solutions for the problems we face. At UWC, I’ll have the chance to expand my knowledge, learn from diverse perspectives, and gain the skills I need to make a meaningful impact on the world.
