From the streets of LA to the streets of Buenos Aires

Hello! My name is Jayden Rapiz. Since I was thirteen, my goal has always been to help people in need. The perfect opportunity for me to do this goal was interpreting. I have been learning Spanish and American Sign Language to help those who feel like they do not have a voice. Interpreting has felt like my calling throughout my high school career and I have been attempting to reach my goals no matter what.

This year, I had the opportunity to apply to study abroad through a program called CIEE. Thankfully, I have been accepted to study abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina for the summer of 2025. I am going to be studying Spanish and improving my conversational skills.

I have been awarded $5,400 in scholarships. However, I still need to fundraise the rest of the money. The remaining total is $4,000 and I need $1,000 by Feb. 27 for the deposit. The rest of the money goes to my flight, the rest of the tuition, and my room and board.

This once in a lifetime academic opportunity is one that I have really worked towards over the past year with my application including my essays, interviews, and more.
