Hi, my name is Miranda Garcia. This isn’t easy for me to write, but I’m putting my pride aside and reaching out because our family is going through something we never saw coming.

I was recently hospitalized and diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, a rare and serious neurological condition that has caused weakness, numbness, and other symptoms that are still being worked up. I’ve already been through MRIs, a spinal tap, and multiple treatments, and there’s still more ahead as doctors try to get to the root of what’s happening. Dr's are talking about physical therapy that could last months.

At the same time, my husband Ryan was laid off from his job, which has hit us hard. With me not being able to work full-time right now and Ryan searching for new work, it’s been nearly impossible to keep up with both medical bills and our regular household expenses—rent, utilities, food, childcare, and everything else it takes to care for our kids. Including the upcoming expenses of school supplies.

We’re doing our best and exploring every option, but the truth is—we’re struggling. That’s why I’ve created this fundraiser. If you’re able to help, your support will go directly toward keeping a roof over our heads, covering the ongoing medical costs, and helping us stay afloat while I recover and Ryan gets back to work.
