Seeking Safety & a Fresh Start After Domestic Violence

My name is Dawn, and I’m a survivor of a brutal assault that changed my life forever. After 14 years of marriage, the man I once trusted betrayed me in the most violent way imaginable. He flew across the country, broke into my home, and tried to kill me. I fought for my life for over an hour, enduring physical trauma, emotional devastation, and lasting fear.

I’ve spent nearly two decades as a domestic violence advocate—helping others escape abuse, rebuild their lives, and find hope. Now, I find myself needing the very support I once gave.

Why I’m Asking for Help

I am seeking funds to:

Relocate to a safe, secure environment far from my abuser

Support my recovery and therapy for PTSD

Care for my two dogs, Winston and Chester, who were also traumatized

Rebuild my life from the ground up—emotionally, physically, and professionally

This assault has cost me my health, my livelihood, and my sense of safety. I am doing everything I can to heal and move forward, but I cannot do it alone.
