Hello friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

My name is Troy Jacobs, and I’m a proud Physical Education teacher for the School District of Philadelphia. I’m also a full-time father—playing both roles of mom and dad to my beautiful daughter, Cali.

Today, I’m reaching out to you not just with my hand—but with my heart.

Against all odds, I’m currently enrolled in school pursuing my Master’s degree, and I’ve achieved something I once thought impossible: a 4.0 GPA. That’s right—perfection. As someone who didn’t grow up believing this was in the cards for me, I now wear it like a badge of honor.

But while my academic success has been a personal victory, I’m facing financial struggles that could jeopardize my journey.

That’s the purpose of this fundraiser—to ask for your help.

Why I’m Raising Money:

The cost of continuing my education—tuition, books, fees—is mounting. I’ve come so far, and the last thing I want is for money to be the reason I can’t reach the finish line.

This journey is bigger than me. My academic success overflows into every corner of my life, especially into the life of my daughter. She sees the work I put in. She hears the encouragement in my voice. She watches me not just tell her about the power of education—but live it.

One day, when she walks into her own classroom, I want her to say, “I’m here because my father showed me what was possible.”

Whether it’s through my passion for teaching, exposure to sororities and fraternities (She understands that going to college is the only way that she could be a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Inc.), or just being a consistent, loving presence at home—my goal is to be the kind of role model she can be proud of.

I’m not just a teacher. I’m a student. I’m a father. I’m a fighter.

And I believe with your help, this chapter of my journey can end in victory—not just for me, but for the hundreds of students I teach, and for the little girl who believes her dad is a superhero.
